Garbanzo Beans, Chickpeas, Black, Organic (864)
Heirloom variety of the chickpea with a darker color, smaller size, and slightly firmer texture. These black chickpeas are creamy white on the inside, so if you see what looks like a white seed inside your bag, don't worry—it’s just the inside of a chickpea that has just cracked open.
Chickpeas are an excellent source of protein, calcium, iron, and B vitamins, making them a nutritious ingredient to keep in your pantry. It also makes them a great vegetarian or vegan option.
Organic, Non-GMO
Directions: Presoak 1 cup garbanzo beans in 4 cups water overnight or for 8–10 hours. Drain and discard soaking water. Bring 6 cups water to a rolling boil in a large pot. Add soaked beans, reduce heat, and let simmer for 35 min. Check softness with a fork, drain, and cool.
